What does one do when there are no options left? How does one fight, when the battle is already lost? How does one survive when they're staring death in the face? These are the kinds of questions one asks in their final moments. The kind of thoughts that give your quivering form reason to keep going when it seems like the end.
Do you stare the creature in the eyes, and try to do as much damage as possible? Do you look away, and plot some form of escape? Do you think of what gives you reason to go on, and what you have to lose so that it may fuel you? When the creature is standing over your body, preparing to tear you apart with those sharp, black claws, how do you make it out alive?
When the end is mere moments away, it's not always about what you do. Sometimes there's nothing you can do to save yourself. Sometimes... It's about what you've already done. All you can do is hope delay the inevitable until the pieces come together, and the inevitable is no longer inevitable at all. The only thought in your mind is not of what you can do, but rather whether it's too late. There's only one question left. What have you done?
